Andrew Makk was a member of the ECP family from our earliest days of formation. Andrew lost a 2 year battle with cancer in July 2013, but he will always be remembered as a great colleague, husband, father and friend.

Andrew was an exceptional investment professional. He was relentless in his pursuit of opportunities for ECP, and played an important role in the development and growth of our midstream platforms. He was also an effective role model and mentor to our junior professionals, even long after he was diagnosed with cancer. Andrew would often say that he thought it was important for our younger colleagues to see him come to the office every day and battle through – he wanted to instill a good work ethic. Many have said that “Andrew is the bravest person I know” and spoke about the impact he made on their lives.

Andrew had a high ethical standard, and embodied the best of the ECP culture. He treated everyone both inside and outside the firm with dignity and respect. He always put the firm's interest first. We lost a great man and friend, but our memories of him will live on forever.
